National Republican Senatorial Committee

I was invited to support the National Republican Senatorial Committee - NRSC - and I think it's a great idea and agreed to be linked. I don't believe for one minute that the conservative movement is dead, and using 'new media' is the hip and happening thing to do. I applaud the committee for understanding that there is a majority in this country with conservative values - and that well needs to be tapped and it needs some energy. I believe that we are facing a crisis in America - we are losing America to idiots who believe in the pipe-dream of socialism.

I am unabashadly conservative. I believe that capitalism is an outstanding political and economic philosophy that guarantees individual rights and freedom. Capitalism creates wealth and not just for a few - for all who are willing to work for a better life. I believe that small government is the answer to our woes.

Senator John Cornyn is the new committe chairman. I will admit that I have never heard of this man. Old Grizzly Mama can only keep up with so much, y'know? It's a big world out there and things are just happening fast and furious - it's crazy. Anyhoo - he's from Texas. He's got an 'A' rating from the NRA. He voted against the Obama so-called 'stimulus' package. Good on taxes.

Where I take issue with Senator Cornyn is his statement , as reported by Politico, that "the GOP may need to recruit fewer conservative candidates in order to win in 2010." I heartily disagree with this statement.

May I suggest to Senator Cornyn and the NRSC that this attitude is what has gotten us into the shit pile in which we find ourselves today? During the Bush Administration, Republicans became the party of huge government. That pissed us off. The Republican Party pushed McCain as our candidate - I think believing that a more 'moderate' candidate would win more of the vote. Wrong. You will not get the conservative vote promoting the likes of McCain - a RINO. And what's with the love fest over Specter in the Republican Party?? Gawd - what a horrible man. I voted for him in the last election, at the behest of my party, in spite of the bile rising in my throat, and I will never do it again. The RNC - and Bush - dissed Toomey. I will vote for the Democrat who's running against Specter if he's the only choice next time. Promise.

There you have it. A strong conservative voting for Democrats. Yikes!

I will support the NRSC and I trust that a vigorous debate will take place on the direction that the party should go. Stop drifting away from conservative values. Stop it right now!

It's the only way we'll win.

We can only hope that the Republican Party has learned their lesson. And Conservative voters must vote out all of the Republicans who voted in favor of the Stimulus package of rancid bacon.

I agree, Rev. I was shocked when I saw that Senator Cornyn believes that the party needs to promote more of the likes of Specter and McCain. Big mistake and they will lose if they keep going at it like that.

Thanks for visiting!

Enjoyed your blog. Agree, Republicans need to get back to being conservative, but need to learn that 'old school' just is not going to cut it. Acting like the big bad pitbull on the blog is a turn-off. Acting as though you are untouchable is a turnoff to the many younger conservatives. Being a little more into technology, understanding a younger generation that is coming of age and wants to be apart of a bigger picture, and knowing how to tap that market to assist in reaching those voters needs to be a focus. The value foundation does not have to change just the method of communication. Scare tactics do not work. Being non-responsive to the many outlets available is not going to work. Some of the good ole boys need to step aside up there. I supported McCain though I felt he too was out of touch. Last year I started in January sending emails to the RNC and the respective republican candidates. I signed up for all the newsletters etc. I also did the same for the Democrats. I sent emails to both parties. I ALWAYS heard back from the Democrats. I'm still waiting on a response from the Republicans. Voters want to be listened to, and when one group doesn't answer back, you lose that voter. I pray (and I do each night) that the Republicans will 'get it' and re-unite a party that I think will not recover soon enough for the next election.

Good to see you, Tweetey - thanks!

Guinness - thank you for visiting and commenting. I have to tell you that I am doubly pissed about Specter - as I have written to him before and he just blew me off. When we tried to call his offices about the stimulus package - couldn't get through, then we just heard on Quinn and Rose that he had taken all of his phones off the hook. The bastard. McCain - nice guy I guess, just no real conservative and I'm sick of the frigging RINO's. My husband and I have bitched several times to the RNC and never received a response. Not once.

So I'm glad that you brought that up - as I hadn't really thought about it until you did and then realized that you are correct - totally non-responsive and that is no way to do business. I have my doubts about the ability of the party to recover before the interim election - but maybe they'll listen??? lol.

In fact, after thinking about this some more, Guinness, I would like to add that my husband has been telling the RNC to go blow when they call begging for money. He's been doing this for a few years.

Cornyn is a solid conservative who hasn't made many apologies to the left.

I'm prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt because I don't know whether the news story was twisted in some way to diss conservatives which seems to be the latest Dem ploy.

As for Specter, it looks like Toomey will run again and none of you PA voters are bound by loyalty to President Bush to vote for Specter again this time.

Thanks for commenting, Mike. I was hoping that you knew of Cornyn.

I hope that Toomey runs - I will help him campaign.

Have you thought about joining Skye's Pennsylvania Conservative Council? Maybe you could start a chapter in your area.
